There are few dishes that are more iconic for a summer cookout than grilled BBQ chicken. It is one of those things that anyone can make without too much effort and is always a crowd pleaser. This is my version classic grilled BBQ chicken.

For this BBQ chicken, I essentially reverse sear it over a high smoking temperature, then sear it off at the end. You can also do this over a lower temperature grill then turn up the heat at the end to crisp up the skin. This technique allows for the BBQ Chicken Rub to really come through. Don’t worry it still gets coated with a healthy dose of my favorite BBQ sauce.

I paired it with a simple air fryer baked potato and some grilled asparagus coated with salt, pepper, and olive oil. This will go with any of your favorite side dishes and a nice summer cocktail. If you are looking for some cocktail suggestions I would recommend my Grilled Pineapple Grapefruit Paloma or my Fizzy Lime Margarita.
