Avocados can add a delicate creamy flavor to most recipes. They go great on a salad, on a burger, in sushi, but my favorite thing to add them to is Mexican food. This avocado crema is the perfect way to add that subtle creaminess, along with a little zing of citrus. This makes an excellent sauce but it would also make for a really good dip.
This avocado crema is extremely easy to make. It has a similar flavor to guacamole but is silky smooth. The added lime juice not only helps provide flavor, but it also helps the avocado not turn brown as fast.
This recipe makes a little over a cup. If you make too much just press some plastic wrap to the surface of the crema and completely seal around the edges. This will keep in the refrigerator for 3-5 days, but is always best freshly made.
