I think everyone has their own way of making guacamole. The way I made this one packed a little punch from the Chili de arbol mixed in. It was super simple and worth the effort.
Spicy Guacamole:
Ingredients:
- 3 Avocados
- 3 Limes
- 2T Minced garlic
- 1c Purple onion (diced)
- 1c Tomatoes (diced)
- 1 Large Jalapeno (diced)
- 1/2c Cilantro (chopped)
- 1/2t Chili de Arbol
- salt and pepper to taste
Serves 4-6 as an appetizer
Directions:
- Dice the purple onion, jalapeno and tomatoes. Mince garlic. Chop cilantro. Set aside.
- Remove avocados from skin and discard, remove the pit and discard. In a medium bowl using the back of a fork roughly smash the avocados. Add in the juice from 2 limes.
- Add in prepared onions, jalapenos, tomatoes and cilantro. Gently stir to combine.
- Add in the chili de arbol, a few grinds of black pepper, and a big pinch of salt. (you can skip the chili de arbol is you don’t want it spicy) stir to combine.
- Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper until it’s to your liking.
- To finish transfer to clean bowl and squeeze remaining lime over the top. Add some more fresh cilantro and fresh ground pepper. (I served it with chips but it would be good with anything)
Notes: The chili de arbol is very spicy so if you want it spicier just add in a little at a time. you could also swap it out with cayenne pepper but I would add double to achieve same spice level.
